Two Women Talking

Abortion is not just a simple medical procedure. For many women, it is a life-changing event with significant physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences. Most women who struggle with past abortions say that they wish they had been told all of the facts about abortion and its risks.

Our trained advocates are available to answer your questions about abortion. You can also read the information at http://www.thinkaboutitonline.com/ to learn more about abortion procedures and the risks associated with abortion.

P.A.C.E. - Post Abortion Counseling and Education is a program designed to bring healing and freedom for those experiencing various P.A.S., Post-Abortion Stress, symptoms. Our P.A.C.E. services are available to both men and women and are completely confidential.

Note: If you are experiencing immediate physical problems after an abortion such as pain, bleeding, fever or nausea, call your doctor now or go to an emergency room.

Abortion May Increase the Risk of Emotional Problems
Some women experience strong negative emotions after abortion. Sometimes this occurs within days and sometimes it happens after many years. This psychological response is known as Post-Abortion Stress.

PACESeveral factors that increase the risk of Post-Abortion Stress include: the woman's age, the abortion circumstances, the stage of pregnancy at which the abortion occurs, and the woman's religious beliefs.

Common emotions after abortion can happen immediately or years afterwards.

For the Men
Take a Minute to Think!

When you decide to become sexually involved with your girlfriend, you need to think through the issues. Condoms and other birth control methods do not guarantee that your girlfriend will not become pregnant. As a matter of fact, over a million young women in this country face unplanned pregnancies each year. There are some SERIOUS questions a responsible man needs to ask himself, because if you are going to become sexually active, the fact is you may get a girl pregnant.

  • If your girlfriend were to become pregnant would you leave her?
    (Unfortunately, many boyfriends do.)
  • Are you ready to support a child with your time, energy and money?
  • Will you go with your girlfriend to tell her parents the news? (Most guys won't.)
  • Are you willing to marry her and give your child a legitimate family?
  • Would you be willing to release your child for an adoption?
  • Will you put pressure on her to have an abortion? (The majority of boyfriends will.)
  • Are you willing to learn about abortion risks and procedures so that you can know ahead of time about all possible complications and risks? The abortion procedure is generally over quickly but it is very important that all body parts are accounted for. Complications can occur.

If you are not ready to be a father and commit yourself in marriage to one woman, you should wait to have sex. The pain you can cause to your child and a woman are very real, it happens every day. Be responsible for your actions and exercise your self-control.

The Crisis Pregnancy Center is here for boyfriends.

If you are serious about your relationship and desire to be there for your girlfriend, give us a call at (775) 826-5144. There are trained peer-counselors that would love to speak with you and help you understand all of your options. All conversations are completely confidential.
